There are some 60 000 occurances of "fångenskapen" and some 1800 of "fångenskapet". There is a similar relationship on books.google.com, with the majority of the neuter being from older publications (doesn't seem to be OCR errors, though) which suggests to me that the neuter used to be common, and could - perhaps - have lived on in certain dialects. So for no other reason, the neuter should remain as a historical variant (which also e.g. SAOB supports). \Mike 22 november 2012 kl. 21.19 (CET)
