A loan word will be assigned a gender by speaker consensus (though at some point a more authorative ruling may be made by for example Svenska akademien). The gender may be either common or neuter. I think it will almost always be common for words that refer to humans and mostly for other animates, and more often neuter than common for other words. Ever wonder 4 augusti 2009 kl. 17.02 (CEST)
